New Adobe Creative Cloud Features That Can Save You Loads of Time

As you probably already know, a short while ago Adobe released the Adobe Creative Cloud and you now need to buy an ongoing subscription to use the Creative Cloud service.  Is the subscription model good or bad? Everyone has their own opinion.

No matter which side of the fence you find yourself currently standing, you really have to admit that some of the new features offered to Creative Cloud subscribers are pretty dang awesome.  Here’s a couple that are going to save me loads of time.

Photoshop Generator

This feature alone has the potential to make the Creative Cloud subscription worth it for web designers. Slicing up a website can get really complex and time consuming. With this update to Photoshop CC, designers can generate the assets right from their .psd files.  If you need to make any changes to the assets just update the .psd and the assets are automatically updated.

Sound too good to be true? Don’t just take my word for it. Check out this video and see how it works.

Edge Reflow with Photoshop CC integration

Edge Reflow, Adobe’s answer to the growing popularity of responsive web design, now supports Photoshop CC integration, making the import of assets completely painless. This update could easily save countless hours for web designers and developers.

New Touch Type Tool in Illustrator

In order to scale, rotate or edit individual letters in a type object in previous versions of Illustrator you had to convert the type to outlines. This could be problematic if a client requested a different font later down the road. Now with the new Touch Type tool in Illustrator CC, you can live edit type as if each letter were its own object.  This allows designers to more easily experiment with fonts and give type the customized look they are going for.

Other Great Resources

I’ve compiled this list of other great resources that inform of new features, teach new skills and hopefully can save you loads of time too.
