With technology advancing rapidly, it’s almost impossible for designs & software to be absolutely unique to just one company or brand. The most recent dispute has been the patent and design battle between Samsung and Apple.
The ongoing debate between the two companies began early in 2011. Apple sued Samsung claiming that several of Samsung’s Android products, “infringed on Apple’s IP”. The latest complaint from Apple is that Samsung “infringed the iPad’s registered design.”
However in mid-October, judges in the UK ruled against Apple and forced the company to publish a disclaimer message on their website clearly stating that Samsung had not infringed the iPad’s design.
Apparently the word,”clearly” is a subjective term.
Apple posted their statement as requested, but Samsung later complained to the judges about the statement not complying to the court order. The UK judges again sided with Samsung, giving Apple 48 hours to rewrite the statement.
