Twitter Vs. Reality [Comic]

Last Friday, Russian residents had front row seats to the biggest meteor event since 1908.  An astroid entered the atmosphere leaving a visible wake of smoke, and caused a bright flash in the sky, however it seems like Twitter & YouTube activity is making more of an impression. Countless recordings of the event were added to YouTube – many of the videos already have millions of views.

Chris Sacca‘s tweet made us reflect on how far technology has come, and how it’s truly amazing how as a society, we have developed this knee-jerk response of turning to social media for breaking news & trending topics. Do you think main-stream media still has a place in international news? Or has social media become the new news source?
