Google has become the largest monopoly of our time. 92.18% of all searches from 2019 happened on the ever-powerful search engine, and when you think of search engines, the brand that comes to mind is Google, every time.

Google’s popularity is nothing new, but they have continued to improve the user experience of their search engine with new updates and upgrades regularly. Their newest update is catering to the user experience, and if you’re wondering how you should prepare, continue reading.

In May 2020, Google announced this update, and because of the pandemic, they have pushed out this update to May 2021. Now that we have two months to prepare for this change in user experience, here are some things you can do to ensure that your links still appear on the first search engine results page.

Mobile Friendliness

You will want your website and all of its contents to be mobile-friendly so that your site’s visitors will be able to visit on any device. The goal is to have your website easy to view and quick to load with accessible buttons so that you can convert website visitors to clients or customers.

HTTPS Security

Be sure that your site is secure so that visitors are more willing to trust your brand. The first thing that will cause some visitors to leave your site is the pop-up that will appear letting them know that your site is not secure. Don’t cause any angst in the visitor’s mind and be sure that your site is secure before May 2021.

Usage of Pop-Up Ads

Correct usage of pop-up ads is important because they can portray more about your products or services than what is on your homepage. If you optimize these correctly, you will see a spike in conversions from visitors to clients.

Lessen Loading Times

It is important, with this new update, that the loading times for all of your links are under 3 seconds. After 3 seconds of loading, a user is more likely to click out of your site, back to the SERP, and on another link that appears in the results.

Present Your Content in a UIUX Format

Presenting your articles, blog posts, service pages, and products in an organized and easy-to-read fashion makes the entire user experience from SERP to check out that much easier.

For the most part, these are attributes that have been important all along. However, with more of an impact on your SERP ranking, it is more important than ever before to have a quality site with quality content.
