One of the newest ways to promote yourself on social media is by using the new live chat room features on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to connect with your friends, followers, or connections more authentically. “Going Live” – as we have begun calling it – is a great way to represent your brand in an authentic way, as these videos cannot be edited before posting them.

A few ways that businesses can take advantage of these live chat rooms are:

To show new products: If you are coming out with new products or services, you could introduce them to your following on Instagram in a live video. This is an exciting moment in your business’s history; go live and show your excitement! Emotions are contagious, and showing that there are real faces behind your brand is a great way to catch the attention of new customers.

To make an announcement: If you’re having a sale or maybe opening a pop-up shop, this is a great way to make any sort of important announcements. You can even set up an Instagram live for the future and promote these announcements on your social pages with posts in advance to grow your audience.

To show behind the scenes: Showing the most interesting parts of creating anything can be really interesting to watch live. Say you’re making animated videos for a client of yours. You could show a small portion of how to animate a storyboard and your potential clients will get to learn something new about the process in an interesting and visually appealing way.

To chat with fellow creatives: Opening up a conversation with a fellow creative is a great way to jump on live in a more natural way. It’s kind of like FaceTiming a friend and talking to them about your job, except you have an audience of your followers listening to you, too.

Instagram has announced that they have live chat rooms that allow up to four users at once starting March 1st. The conversations you could open up about whatever recent events are happening in your field are limitless when you can team up with up to three fellow creators and go live on Instagram.

According to Instagram, going live with your audience increases your reach because the followers of your guests can also be notified when you are going live with them. For example, if you have 5,000 followers and you go live with a friend who has 10,000 followers, your live will notify up to 15,000 people! If you added more users into your live, you can grow your following in no time.

So get familiar with the many ways going live on Instagram can benefit your business or brand to grow your following and potential leads.
